Left ventricle non-compaction in pregnancy - the timing of prenatal diagnosis
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Methods A 37 year-old Para1 was diagnosed of left ventricle non-compaction (LVNC) at 32 years old, after a previous successful pregnancy without complications. Prior to the current pregnancy, the patient presented with a left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) of 44% and NYHA class II. Her medical treatment included 100mg acetyl salicylic acid (ASA) daily and Carvedilol. Significant family history included dilated cardiomyopathy in her mother.

[Isolated non-compaction of the left ventricle].
Isolated non compaction of the left ventricle is a rare congenital cardiomyopathy linked to an arrest of normal myocardial embryogenesis. We report two cases of isolated non compaction of the left ventricle discovered by echocardiography in 2 males of 30 and 55 years. The first had progressively worsening cardiac insufficiency, the second was being followed for an unexplained cardiomyopathy. In...
متن کاملStudy on the distribution characteristics of affected myocardium in non-compaction of left ventricular myocardium
Objectives: This study aims to investigate the distribution characteristics of the diseased area in non-compaction of left ventricular myocardium. Methods: In combination with the standardized myocardial segmentation of the American Heart Association, color Doppler ultrasound was used to analyze the occurrence of lesions in each segment of left ventricular walls in 21 patients with non-compacti...
متن کاملLeft ventricle non-compaction cardiomyopathy: different clinical scenarios and magnetic resonance imaging findings.
Left ventricle non-compaction cardiomyopathy is currently considered as a well-defined individual entity. However, it includes a broad spectrum of clinical, radiological and pathophysiological findings. In this review we describe 3 different scenarios of this entity: an isolated case with severe left ventricle dysfunction, an "associated" case in a patient with previous atrial septum defect and...
متن کاملP-226: Non-Invasive Prenatal Screening for Fetal Chromosomal Anomalies in South of Iran
Background: Prenatal diagnosis for Fetal Chromosomal anomalies currently relies on assessment of risk followed by a combination of biochemical and nuchal translucency. Trisomy 21 is the most common trisomy that is associated with intellectual disability. Pregnant women who receive a prenatal diagnosis of trisomy 21 currently have the option of continuing or terminating their pregnancy, but no f...
متن کاملIsolated Non-Compaction of the Left Ventricle in a Patient with New-Onset Heart Failure: Morphologic and Functional Evaluation with Cardiac Multidetector Computed Tomography
We describe a case of new-onset heart failure in a patient in whom cardiac CT enabled the non-invasive diagnosis of isolated non-compaction and associated functional abnormalities of the left ventricle with the concomitant evaluation of coronary arteries. This case highlights the utility of cardiac CT for the morphological and functional evaluation of the heart as a single imaging modality.
